About

About Chris:

My name is Chris Lopez. I am a 25 year old graphic designer and creative director. I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I have a wonderful 3 year old son named Jayden. I have earned my bachelor's degree of applied science in visual communications at Westwood College. My passion for art started off when I was about 8 years old. I started off with sketching out and doodling characters. I continued to practice and now I dedicate myself to do them digitally. I love to illustrate characters as a hobby. In addition to that, I enjoy creating motion graphics, making websites, and shooting videos and photographs. I am always willing to work on new project.

About Odd World Pixels:

I started Odd World Pixels in May of 2012. It started when I was requested by a few friends to illustrate some character parodies. That had inspired me to make a whole series of them. Therefore, we now have Odd World Pixels. Now, I usually take character requests for illustrations or I randomly pick what to draw. I have released many characters since 2012 to the present day. I love what I do and that's reason enough for me to do it.

WHY THE (SUDDEN) CHANGE OF DIRECTION (CHARACTER STYLE):

As with everything, things grow and or evolve. As I've been developing fairies, I felt that I was too limited by the design of their small bodies. I did end up using other character shapes from the Fairly Odd Parents, but I felt that I didn't want to go too far off into those shapes. Now I focus on making  all of my new characters in a different style.

WHY ARE THERE FEW CHARACTERS IN 2014 AND 2015:

During those years I felt that I had overdone the fairy characters. I grew tired of them and I was looking for a new style to work with. Thankfully I did find it by 2016 (better late than never). In addition to that, I also was focused on working more and taking care of my newborn son. So I am glad to be back and bringing new characters to Odd World Pixels.
